Astrology
Astrology is regarded as a type of tradition or belief postulating that a movement of celestial bodies is a key to understanding the evolvement of human destiny on earth. The origin of the word Astrology is Greek, derived from the word astron meaning 搒tar and logos holding a variety of meanings all related to 搒ystematic thought or speech.
The reason logos is written in English as ology is because it refers to a 揹iscipline.
Astrology is not to be confused with Astronomy.
While the first one concentrates on relational aspect between the movement of celestial bodies and human earthly affairs, the later one deals strictly with observational facet of the celestial bodies in space.
There is no empirical evidence to prove scientific grounds of Astrology, though some individual predictions may suggest other implications.
The tradition of Astrology relies on transition of various celestial bodies, such as the Sun, Moon, planets and lunar nodes captured at a certain time and place of the analyzed event.
The core of Astrology is calculations forming an astrological chart, called a horoscope.
Natal chart is a name for a personal horoscope based on individual抯 birth details.
It is essentially a two dimensional diagram representing the position of celestial bodies at a given time and place.
Ascedant, or the rising sign (Greek horoskopos) in ancient Hellenistic astrology marked the first house of a chart.
Obviously, the modern term horoscope was derived from horoskopos, only the meaning was extended to represent the astrological chart, or personal birth chart as a whole.
